Documentation

Getting started with Local Lift SEO — set up your main business, connect Google Business Profile, and import from Yoast or Rank Math.

New to Local Lift? Start with the three setup guides below — most businesses are up and running in under 15 minutes. Then explore Free and Pro documentation for every feature. Need help? Contact support.

Getting started

Set up in three steps

Set up your main business

Your main business profile is the single source of truth for schema, blocks, and NAP checks. Free includes one main business — that's by design.

  1. Install and activate Local Lift SEO from WordPress.org.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Main business in your WordPress admin.
  3. Enter your business name, address, phone, website URL, and hours.
  4. Add your service area or categories as needed.
  5. Save — LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema is generated automatically.

Connect Google Business Profile (GBP OAuth)

Connecting GBP lets Local Lift read your listing health and compare NAP data against your website. The connection uses read-only OAuth — we don't post on your behalf.

  1. Your site must use HTTPS — required for Google OAuth.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Integrations → Google Business Profile.
  3. Click Connect with Google and sign in with the Google account that manages your listing.
  4. Grant read-only access to your Business Profile data.
  5. Select the correct location if you manage multiple listings.

Import from Yoast SEO or Rank Math

Switching from another SEO plugin? Local Lift includes one-click import so you don't lose titles, meta descriptions, or settings.

  1. Keep your current SEO plugin active during import.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Tools → Import.
  3. Choose Yoast SEO or Rank Math as the source.
  4. Review what will be imported (titles, meta descriptions, focus keywords, etc.).
  5. Run the import, then verify a few key pages.
  6. Deactivate the old plugin when you're satisfied — Local Lift is standalone.
