Documentation

Getting started with Local Lift SEO — set up your main business, connect Google Business Profile, and import from Yoast or Rank Math.

Getting started

Set up in three steps

Set up your main business

Your main business profile is the single source of truth for schema, blocks, and NAP checks. Free includes one main business — that's by design.

  1. Install and activate Local Lift SEO from WordPress.org.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Main business in your WordPress admin.
  3. Enter your business name, address, phone, website URL, and hours.
  4. Add your service area or categories as needed.
  5. Save — LocalBusiness JSON-LD schema is generated automatically.

Connect Google Business Profile (GBP OAuth)

Connecting GBP lets Local Lift read your listing health and compare NAP data against your website. Free uses read-only OAuth — Pro can pull and push listing fields when you approve changes.

  1. Your site must use HTTPS — required for Google OAuth.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Settings → Integrations.
  3. Click Connect with Google and sign in with the Google account that manages your listing.
  4. Grant read-only access to your Business Profile data.
  5. Select the correct location if you manage multiple listings.

Import from Yoast SEO or Rank Math

Switching from another SEO plugin? Local Lift includes one-click import so you don't lose titles, meta descriptions, or settings.

  1. Keep your current SEO plugin active during import.
  2. Go to Local Lift → Tools → Import.
  3. Choose Yoast SEO or Rank Math as the source.
  4. Review what will be imported (titles, meta descriptions, focus keywords, etc.).
  5. Run the import, then verify a few key pages.
  6. Deactivate the old plugin when you're satisfied — Local Lift is standalone.

Local SEO documentation

Complete local SEO for one main business — schema, GBP, NAP, score, blocks, import, and basic on-page SEO. No upgrade required.

Local Lift Score & Fix it checklist

Free · Local Lift Score

The only SEO plugin that scores your business, not just your blog posts. Your dashboard shows a prioritized list of fixes.

  1. Open Local Lift → Dashboard to see your current score.
  2. Review the Fix it checklist — items are ordered by impact on local visibility.
  3. Complete high-priority items first (schema, GBP connection, NAP alignment).
  4. Re-run checks after changes — your score updates automatically.

NAP consistency checker

Free · NAP checker

Compare your Name, Address & Phone against Google — with daily scheduled scans and dashboard alerts when something drifts.

  1. Connect Google Business Profile first (see getting started above).
  2. Open Local Lift → Dashboard or Local Lift → Google Business Profile.
  3. Review the NAP report — it compares your main business profile, site output, and linked GBP listing.
  4. Fix any mismatches flagged in the report — start with phone and address.
  5. Scans run daily; critical issues also appear as dashboard alerts.

Map Pack Readiness checklist

Free · Map Pack

A prioritized checklist for Maps visibility — categories, photos, reviews, and more.

  1. Open Local Lift → Dashboard and scroll to Map Pack Readiness.
  2. Work through on-site items (schema, NAP, local landing pages) inside WordPress.
  3. Complete GBP-side items (categories, photos, review responses) in Google Business Profile.
  4. Return to the checklist as you improve — progress is tracked over time.

Service area business setup

Free · Service-area businesses

Plumbers, contractors, and mobile pros: configure GBP service areas, areaServed schema, NAP alignment, and city landing pages without a fake storefront.

  1. Read the service area business guide for GBP and WordPress setup.
  2. Enter service areas in Local Lift → Main business so schema matches your coverage.
  3. Publish city pages for your top markets and link them from services or a hub page.
  4. Connect GBP and run the NAP checker — phone and name must match everywhere.

Local blocks: contact, map & hours

Free · Blocks

Help customers find and contact you. Maps use OpenStreetMap — no Google Maps API key required.

  1. Edit any page or post in the block editor.
  2. Search for Local Lift blocks: Contact, Map, or Business Hours.
  3. Blocks pull data from your main business profile automatically.
  4. Publish — contact details and hours stay in sync when you update Main business.
