This Privacy Policy explains how Local Lift SEO ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Local Lift SEO WordPress plugin and the website at wplocalliftseo.com (collectively, the "Service").

1. Who we are

Local Lift SEO is a WordPress plugin and marketing website operated to help local businesses improve their search visibility. This policy covers both the plugin installed on your WordPress site and your use of our website.

2. Information we collect

Website visitors

When you visit wplocalliftseo.com, we may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and, if you opt in, analytics data via privacy-friendly tools. Our contact form collects your name, email, topic, and message when you submit it.

Plugin users

The Local Lift SEO plugin stores business data you enter (name, address, phone, hours, etc.) in your WordPress database on your own server. We do not automatically transmit your business data to our servers unless you explicitly use a feature that requires it.

3. Google Business Profile OAuth

If you connect Google Business Profile (GBP) in the plugin, Local Lift SEO uses Google's OAuth 2.0 flow to request read-only access to your Business Profile data. This allows us to display listing health, compare NAP data, and power your Local Lift Score.

  • OAuth access tokens are stored encrypted at rest in your WordPress database.
  • We do not post to your GBP listing or make changes on your behalf.
  • You can disconnect GBP at any time from Local Lift → Settings → Integrations.
  • Google's use of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Google Gemini API (Pro, BYOK)

Local Lift SEO Pro includes an optional AI SEO assistant that uses your own Google Gemini API key (bring your own key — BYOK). When you enter a Gemini API key:

  • Your API key is stored encrypted in your WordPress database.
  • AI requests are sent directly from your server to Google's Gemini API using your key.
  • We do not store or log the content of AI prompts on our servers.
  • You are responsible for API usage costs and compliance with Google's terms.

5. OpenStreetMap tile requests

Local Lift SEO map blocks use OpenStreetMap tiles served via Leaflet on your visitors' browsers. When a visitor views a page with a map block on your site, their browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap tile servers. This means:

  • No Google Maps API key is required on your site.
  • Visitor IP addresses may be visible to OpenStreetMap tile servers as part of normal HTTP requests.
  • We recommend reviewing OpenStreetMap Foundation's Privacy Policy for details.

6. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or business data to third parties. We do not use your GBP data, business profile, or API keys for advertising or unrelated purposes.

7. Data retention and security

Plugin data remains on your WordPress server until you delete it or uninstall the plugin. OAuth tokens and API keys are removed when you disconnect the integration or delete the stored credentials. We use encryption for sensitive tokens and follow WordPress security best practices.

8. Cookies

Our website may use essential cookies for basic functionality and, with your consent, analytics cookies. You can manage cookie preferences via the cookie notice on this site.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (primarily contact form submissions). For plugin data stored on your own server, you control it directly through WordPress.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
